FortisBMI – Insurance Carriers

Weight loss can sometimes be a necessary step towards better health, and the last thing you need to worry about is understanding the ins and outs of what is (or isn’t) covered by your health plan.  Your priority should be your own health and well-being, so let our trained office staff do what we do best to get you on your way to a healthier you. We have people on our staff who have worked in this realm for over 10 years and are highly experienced to make your financial journey an easy one.

We are contracted with most major health insurance providers (See Below) and will happily work on your behalf to get you the most savings possible through your health insurance.  All plans have different deductible levels and out-of-pocket maximums, so we will look at where you stand on your deductible-spend for the year to determine when is the best time to schedule your procedure. In some cases, patients with a lower deductible who are enrolled in a PPO-style co-pay plan, may elect to have their procedure done at the beginning of the year (financing if necessary).  This will allow patients to meet their deductible sooner and only be responsible for paying the co-insurance percentage for other medical expenses that may come up during the remainder of the year. In either situation, our insurance specialists will help you determine the most cost-saving option for you.

FortisBMI – Financing Options

If filing the procedure with your health insurance is not an option or if you do not have health insurance, there are a few different payment plan options depending on your situation:

  • Care Credit –
    • CareCredit operates like a credit card to be used exclusively for health and wellness expenses.  They have shorter term financing options available with no interest on a minimum purchase of $200.  Visit their website for more details: https://www.carecredit.com/
  •  LendingUSA –
    • FortisBMI will sit with you and walk through the steps on their website to figure out the best loan option for you.  This option does not affect your credit and allows you to make your payments directly to FortisBMI. To learn more about this option, please visit: https://www.lendingusa.com/
  • ClearGage –
    • A referral from your provider to ClearGage allows you to set up an individualized payment plan that is convenient for you.  They work with you and your provider to administer a payment plan. This also does not affect your credit, and you can use your account for any services rendered by a participating provider.

If you decide to do a payment plan, the balance must be paid before the surgery.  Also, if you have a Health Savings Account (HSA), a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), you may be eligible to use the money from those accounts to pay for your surgical weight loss procedure.  Check with your plan administrator to learn more about what procedures qualify for your specific medical spending account. It is important to remember that if you have an FSA, the balance in that account will expire at the end of the calendar year.  As you can see, it important to work with our office staff to determine what the best cost saving option is for you.

No matter your situation, FortisBMI is on your side. Your health is our priority and the financial burden that can be associated with your health can be daunting. Don’t worry about the things we can help you with – we want you to spend your time and energy taking the necessary steps towards a healthier life!

Once you come in for your initial consultation, we will go over all the options available to you at the time. You can also send us a message regarding insurance or financing using this form. You can expect a response from us within 24-48 hours during business hours.
